The perfect romantic retreat, Sunrise will make you fall in love all over again! Incredible breath stealing views of the tidal river near the Ovens' Mouth Preserve is just full of aquatic wildlife like seals, sturgeon, osprey and eagles. This property is on a point of land offering water views on three sides as the river curves around the property. The house follows the same curve and was built to blend in with the beautiful wooded environment.
THE HOUSE: Built in 1999 as a two-story family home, the owners have carved out a gorgeous condo on the ground floor, keeping the top floor for themselves (although they rarely have the opportunity to visit). This well-equipped condo has its own private entrance and curves along the water side of the house. Each room has water views and doors leading to the flagstone patio and colorful, manicured gardens. French doors lead from the bedroom into the open, airy living room. The condo is tiled throughout, keeping it nice and cool in the summer. Like the rest of the condo, the kitchen and dining are open, spacious and offer unbelievable views. Gorgeous wood accents and simple, elegant decor.
The landscaped gardens and paths meander down the hill to the home's private dock and float (shared with the owners when they are in-house) with deep water moorings available (for a fee). Guests can bring their own boat (or rent locally). Ask your reservation agent for details. If you like to kayak or canoe, day sail or rowboat, you will absolutely LOVE this property.
BEDROOMS: Master bedroom suite with Queen bed and a gorgeous wood burning brick fireplace.
BATHROOMS: Newly renovated full bathroom with shower/tub combo.
PETS PERMITTED? Dogs only, please, due to owner's severe cat allergy.
LINENS & TOWELS INCLUDED? Yes, linens and towels are provided for your stay at no additional cost.
Ovens Mouth and Ovens Mouth Preserve are famous in this part of the world, especially to the boating community. Known for the reversing falls, the convergence of Back and Cross rivers as they head for the Sheepscot River and the the Atlantic Ocean, this area is home to eagles and heron. In 1994 the Boothbay Region Land Trust purchased 146 acres on Ovens Mouth, including both the eastern and middle peninsulas. Walking trails and spectacular kayaking are thoroughly enjoyed by locals and visitors from far and wide. With a rich history and incredible natural beauty this area is now protected for all to enjoy. The narrow passages and rich tidal basins, rocky cliffs and tree lined hillsides all make beautiful scenery and photographic opportunities on misty days as well as bright sunny ones! Large sailing yachts and single-man lobster boats, day-sailers and canoers share these waters and add to the views. Explore this amazing location on the Boothbay peninsula by land or by sea and you will want to come back year after year!
